Abrasion & Heat Protection to 750°F (400°C)
The 400 Series gloves and mitts are constructed from Z-Tech core spun aramid fabric. Core spun aramid yarn is produced by covering a fiberglass core yarn with a para-aramid sheath. The finished product offers the abrasion resistance of para-aramid with the heat resistance of fiberglass. The 400 Series gloves can withstand temperatures up to 750°F (400°C) and offer excellent cut protection. They are ideal for environments where extreme heat and sharp objects, like glass, are both present.
The 400 Series also features Aramid Plus gloves and mitts, which feature a ZetexPlus® vermiculite coating. This proprietary vermiculite formula helps distribute heat evenly across the surface of the glove or mitt for even greater temperature resistance. The Aramid Plus gloves can withstand operating temperatures up to 1000°F (540°C) and peak temperatures up to 1200°F (650°C).
