Zetex Texturized Fiberglass Material
Zetex® is woven from continuous filament yarn that has been treated by Newtex's proprietary texturization process. The texturization process is key because it gives Zetex® superior insulation capabilities, making it an excellent choice for applications requiring thermal and acoustic insulation or protection from heat and fire.
Zetex® resists continuous operating temperatures up to 1000°F (540°C) and peak temperatures up to 1300°F (700°C), meaning that extended direct contact with temperatures around 1300°F (700°C) may damage the fabric, but it can tolerate contact with temperatures around 1000°F (540°C) for a longer duration. These temperature ratings are guidelines and heavily dependent on the environment and application in which the material is being used.
Zetex is available in Premium Grade and Industrial Grade styles. Premium Grade Zetex is woven from 6 micron continuous filament yarn. The 6 micron yarn gives the fabric greater strength and abrasion resistance than the 9 micron yarn used in Industrial Grade Zetex fabrics. Industrial grade Zetex® is woven with 9 micron yarn to provide economical yet highly effective thermal and acoustic insulation. Industrial grade Zetex® is commonly used in applications like lagging, stress relief, and removable insulation systems such as blankets, pads, and covers.
Fabrics are available in a range of fabric weights and constructions and with a variety of coatings. Custom solutions are also available to meet specific requirements. All Zetex® fabrics are made in the USA.
