Lightweight proximity suit with a neoprene vapor barrier
The NXP 550 Proximity Suit is a lightweight, radiant heat resistant suit for use in applications where ambient temperatures up to 200°F (95°C). The outer shell is made from Z-Flex aluminized fabric to reflect 95% of radiant heat. The suit is fabricated without bulk insulation layers to allow for flexibility and freedom of movement. It also features a neoprene flame resistant neoprene vapor barrier lining for added protection from steam, vapor, and hot liquids.
The NXP 550 has been replaced by an updated and improved lightweight proximity suit called the X20. We recommend the X20 for better fit, more comfortable wear, and a faster lead time. The NXP 550 suit will no longer be available after December 2016.
